About Carolina Echevarria
Carolina Echevarria is Regional Manager for Latin America at the Alliance for Integrity a global, business-driven, multi-stakeholder initiative implemented by the GIZ. In this position, Carolina is responsible for activities in seven Latin American countries, as well as the governance structure and the global training programme "From companies to companies". During the G20 presidencies of Germany and Argentina, Carolina represented the initiative in the B20 integrity and anti-corruption groups and in various joint activities with the W20 and C20. She was also a representative of the initiative at the 2017 UN Convention against Corruption implementation meeting in Vienna, as well as in other international anti-corruption forums such as the OECD, IDB and UN Global Compact. Before assuming her current position, she was supervisor of the Legal and Compliance Department of the German-Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she developed the compliance programme and various activities in this field for the members and other actors linked to the organisation. In the first two years of her career she worked at Siemens under the German dual system in areas such as legal, internal controls and compliance. Carolina is a lawyer trained at the Universidad Católica Argentina, with a Master's degree in Economics and International Politics at the Universidad de San Andrés, where her final thesis focused on "International private regulations as a tool to fight corruption in Latin America". Carolina is passionate about gender and anticorruption and is a member of Compliance Women Committee Internacional (CWC) and Women in Compliance (WiC Argentina).
